M2PI Case Studies Virtual Seminar
The Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) is pleased to offer the Math to Power Industry: Case Studies Virtual Seminar Series. This initiative supports PIMS’s broader mandate to foster meaningful engagement between the mathematical sciences and sectors beyond academia.
The primary objective of the series is to highlight collaborative research between members of the PIMS academic community—graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty—and partners in industry, government, non-profit organizations, and other sectors across western Canada. Presenters will share case studies that reflect on the research process, outcomes, and lessons learned, including challenges, unexpected results, and key moments of discovery during these collaborations.
This series aims to:
Showcase the application of mathematical tools to real-world problems
Promote knowledge exchange between academia and external sectors
Encourage future partnerships and interdisciplinary research
