UBC Applied Mathematics Meeting
Details
The UBC Applied Mathematics Meeting is a one day conference dedicated to the newly created SIAM Student Chapter at UBC, Vancouver, Canada. This event aims to bring together mathematicians, industry researchers, and students to exchange ideas, present research, and foster collaborations within the mathematical community.
The conference will feature a series of 20-minute talks by senior researchers and 10-minute talks by junior researchers. The purpose of these presentations is to provide an overview and highlight the motivation behind the methods and approaches used to tackle problems arising from real-world applications.

The deadline for registration is Saturday October 18th, 2025. By registering, you will be able to attend talks and discuss ideas with other innovative researchers over snacks and a coffee!
Additional Information
Please note: There are spaces in the conference schedule for some young researchers to give short (10 mins) talks, and there will be a poster session. The registration form contains an option to indicate an interest in presenting a short talk or poster. If you do indicate in the registration form that you would like to give a short talk or present a poster, there will be a follow-up form in which you can submit a title and abstract. Please understand that there will be restricted capacity for short talks and posters, and we won't be able to provide time and space for all the submissions.
There will also be space on the registration form to indicate that you will be willing to be a volunteer for the event, to help the day run smoothly.
